Job Description for Marketing & Community Specialist (AlmaLinux OS Foundation) - REMOTE at Cloud Linux - Remote (Global)
We’re hiring a Marketing & Community Manager to support the AlmaLinux Foundation, a global community-driven open-source operating system, with additional responsibilities supporting TuxCare, its primary sponsor.
This role is approximately 75% focused on AlmaLinux initiatives and 25% on TuxCare marketing activities.
You’ll lead community growth, engagement, and events while strengthening partnerships and visibility across the open-source ecosystem.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and execute Linux community-driven marketing efforts and campaigns
- Create and manage engaging content: blog posts, newsletters, press releases, and social media
- Define and maintain AlmaLinux’s voice and tone across platforms
- Recruit, onboard, and support volunteers and contributors
- Manage and moderate community forums and ensure helpful, inclusive participation
- Plan and run events like AlmaLinux Days and our presence at industry conferences
- Build relationships with sponsors, contributors, and other open-source projects
- Measure and optimize outreach, engagement, and impact using data and community feedback
- Support outbound marketing efforts by setting up and managing cold email campaigns for TuxCare’s AlmaLinux product, including audience segmentation, messaging setup, and campaign tracking
- Assist with maintaining and editing the company’s HUGO-based website; prior development experience is a plus but not required
